Labour And Wait’s beautifully tiled bottle green converted pub home and general store, celebrates great functional, honest design with an intrinsic belief for quality and utility. Born out of a frustration for dictating seasonal trends, where no time is allowed for products to mature, establish and in time become classic themselves, Labour And Wait focus on selling timeless household products that would fit appropriately in both a contemporary or traditional interior.

Labour And Wait has gained credible status as one of the leading independents in Shoreditch’s design hotspot, attracting a wide variety of customers of all ages and style tastes who simply crave well made nostalgic, functional design that will improve their lifestyle and never go out of date. Shop household, kitchen, bathroom, outdoor, stationery and gifts in a stylised post-war setting of beautifully hung utility classics from ostrich feather dusters to old fashioned measuring jugs.

A Labour And Wait Japanese Enamel Kettle costs £62 and a Labour And Wait Wooden Folding Ruler costs £8.50.

WeLikeShopping Tip: Although Labour And Wait focus on established household designs, their collections are continually evolving with carefully selected new products that are destined to become future classics.

Labour and Wait is exactly my kind of style. All the products are classic, quite traditional and have a timeless design. I love the kitchen products in particular; my kitchen is full of Labour & Wait goodies like coffee pots, mugs and tea cosies!

I can't come to Shoreditch without visiting Labour and Wait and treating myself to something, whether it's a fountain pen or a soap dish... there's always something to entice me!

I tend to favour high street stores over independent shops because I find that they are much cheaper and easier to find. However, Labour and Wait is a store that I always enjoy visiting.

While the high street is great for clothes, I feel that products for the home are worth spending a bit more on because they should last you a long time. I don't like buying homeware that is trendy - it should age well and last for years. That's why I love Labour & Wait; everything is classically designed and thoughtfully crafted. Every item is like a little masterpiece and you know you'll still be admiring it in a decade.

To be honest, I don't have any need for the products they sell here. So why am I giving it a thumbs up? I just love the look of it! The store looks fantastic inside and out, from its glossy tiled green exterior to the atmospheric inside, which has a cool vintage feel to it. It's a great shop to browse in and just enjoy - well worth a visit if you're in Shoreditch.

I adore Shoreditch, and one of my favourite stores here is Labour and Wait. It's a very eye-catching shop from the outside as it is bright green - I dare anyone to walk past it and not want to go inside and see what it is like! They sell home accessories, stationary, outdoor products and gifts here. My favourite things to buy are the retro bottles and jars because I think they look great in my kitchen and I can use them for preserving jams and salad dressings. It's such a lovely store to just browse in and have a look around - I could spend so much time in Labour & Wait!
