An uninteresting shop with uninteresting shoes, full of loud, crying children who would rather be in Hamleys. AVOID!

This store is very basic and won't win any awards for interior design - it has a very old fashioned feel to it. However, Clarks sells some very reasonable shoes which have a fair price tag and are great for my office job. I don't want to have to spend a lot for shoes to wear at work so Clarks is perfect for me. I always buy the Fire Star style and will sometimes order them online and pick them up here, to save time when I'm shopping in London.

Every September, before my children go back to school, I book them in to have a fitting appointment here. I remember my own mum doing the same for me and my sister! It's very important not to buy ill fitting shoes for children as it can hurt their feet and prevent them from growing properly. With Clarks I get some peace of mind that my girls' feet are comfortable.

Over the last few years I have seen Clarks become more and more stylish and trend driven, so I have even been known to try on a few pairs myself while my kids are having their feet measured!

While I don't shop here for myself, my wife and I do bring our children here to buy their shoes. The children's footwear at Clarks is very good because it is sturdy and can handle running around the playground, climbing trees and playing games.

The staff here at this store are great with kids and never seem to get frustrated or lose patience with them. They are always very good at finding the right size, which is important when their feet seem to grow so quickly! You can even book in for a fitting appointment which takes about 15 minutes and is completely free - you just have to call ahead and book it.

The best thing is the value - they sell some children's shoes for less than £10 which, when you have 4 children, is a god send!

I came here because I wanted some very smart and elegant shoes to wear at work. However, I found the styles to be incredibly drab and dull, more like a school boy would wear than a grown man. I prefer something with a little bit more style.
