Located in the heart of Brick Lane’s cluster of unusual fashion boutiques, Joy is a well known lifestyle concept store selling an eclectic mix of ladies and men’s vintage inspired clothing, nostalgic accessories, kitsch homeware and eccentric gift ideas. Joy’s innovative design approach with a fun vintage flair fits perfectly into East London’s retro fashion scene and style sensibility.
Joy’s beautiful bespoke store interiors encourage a delightful journey through their lovingly curated collections with a quirky British undertone, featuring 50’s pleated dresses, flirty floral prom dresses, girly lace blouses, coloured chinos, heritage check shirts and seriously stylish pea coats. Joy is popular for its pretty own label Louche dresses in statement prints and exclusive styles to suit any occasion.

Joy is the destination for witty 1950’s pin up girls greeting cards, treasures, trinkets and retro inspired gifts such as novelty teapots, guinea pig eggcups, ornamental jewellery boxes, kitsch fox and owl cushions, rabbit cake stands, sausage dog book ends and camera lens shot glasses.

A knockout Louche going out shift dress in a lush metallic jacquard costs £65 and a men’s Hymn Brad Shirt costs £55.

One of the less expensive shops in Brick Lane, Joy is a chain store but you wouldn't necessarily know it - it has that independent boutique feel. The menswear isn't as prolific as the women's range but it is a good selection with decent clothes.

The accessories are worth taking a look at - I've picked up a good few belts here - and it's worth bearing in mind that the women's range is good should you ever need to buy the girl in your life a gift!

The clothes in Joy aren't really my style, however I do like to come in here for a browse as I like their novelty section and the homeware. There's always something in the home section that catches my eye! It's a great place to buy gifts, especially for girls, and the card range always manages to raise a smile.

I pretty much always wear dresses, and Joy is my favourite store to shop for them! The dress selection is huge and varied. My favourite brand here is Louche as they always fit well; they are flattering and look lovely on. Whether you want a dress for wearing during the day, for special occasions, or for the evening - I bet you that Joy will have exactly what you're looking for! Be warned though - it's impossible to just buy one!

I always thought that Joy was just womenswear, however they do sell a small range of menswear too. I think the men's t-shirts are fantastic - really cool and trendy - and the sweatshirts are good quality, not too pricey and thick enough to keep me warm in winter.

The store itself is friendly and charming, with smiley staff who always say hello. A great shop for both men and women!
